Hello guys, here is my first article for this month “Mobile GPRS Speed Comparison”
As everyone knows that mobile has become one of the most important part of our life now. Everyone wants to stay connected with each other, either via phone calls, or via sms and now via mobile facebook and orkut. Yes! as the mobile operators has reduced their gprs prices, everyone wants to be stay online from their mobile. But as more and more users has availed the gprs services in their mobile, the quality of mobile gprs has been reduced.
So here I want to share my experiences with different mobile operators.
[box type="green"]Mobile GPRS Speed Comparision[/box]
AIRTEL
Airtel is know for its best network coverage. But for mobile gprs, they are not in race with aircel or bsnl. Although their mobile gprs connection is stable but the maximum downloading speed i experienced in Airtel was around 10kB/s. Average mobile gprs speed is around 4kB/s. Airtel call rates are higher than other operators & for these reasons i did not go for Airtel for long. Although i can say that they have awesome customer services & support, but mobile gprs services is the only field where Airtel lack behind with others.
AIRCEL (My Personal Best Mobile GPRS Service Provider)
[box type="red"]Currently i am with aircel because they have some awesome mobile gprs plans & rate cutters. I am using aircel from last one year approx. Earlier Aircel mobile gprs speed was slow at my place (South Delhi), but as the time passes they improved their coverage & mobile gprs services a lot. I have some nice experiences with Aircel. Last time I recharged with 498 Rs. & i got unlimited free calls & sms to local Aircel numbers & 6gb of mobile gprs usage & all this for 3 months, along with some talktime. Aircel mobile gprs service gives a downloading speed of around 5kB/s to 25kB/s depending on the coverage area. I get an average speed of around 10kB/s at day time & around 20kB/s early morning from 5am to 9am. Aircel has got the most stable network coverage with some lovely mobile gprs plans. Although now all the unlimited mobile gprs plans has got limited to fair usage. Aircel network are not widely available, especially in Uttarakhand.[/box]
IDEA
Idea has one of the best mobile gprs speed i ever experienced with the downloading speed as much as 35kB/s. I was with Idea for 2 years when they don’t have any cheap unlimited mobile gprs plans, & we have to pay Rs. 20/day for unlimited mobile gprs usage. Their customer support sucks & i think they only desires to earn money & they don’t value their customer like Airtel. I finally left Idea because of their poor customer services & frequent balance deductions & making silly excuses. Right now idea has 98Rs. mobile gprs plan that gives 2gb of free mobile gprs usage for 30 days. Idea has good mobile gprs services in both the states, Delhi & Uttarakhand.
BSNL (My Personal Best Mobile 3G Service Provider)
[box type="red"]Bsnl is one of my favourite mobile operator in Uttarakhand because of their mobile gprs speed & mobile gprs plans & also their 3g hack. Yes, 3g hack! you can use your 2g sim as 3g to surf net that at 2g gprs rates. Means 30 days limitless net at 3g speed only for 270Rs. The mobile gprs downloading speed in bsnl 3g is around 100kB/s to 200kB/s. Isn’t its wonderful? At this speed i can download 700mb file in less than 3 hours in my mobile phone (Nokia 5800) by symtorrent. I always use bsnl whenever I am in Uttarakhand. I love their mobile gprs speed.[/box]
VODAFONE
When i used Vodafone in Delhi, it was known as Hutch at that time. They have some awesome rate cutters & sms value packs, but they don’t emphasized on mobile gprs. Later on when Vodafone took over by Hutch, they came up with some never seen offers like word calling cards & all, but even then they did not promote their mobile gprs services. They had expensive mobile gprs plans. Some months ago when I was in Uttarakhand I used Vodafone for a month. Their mobile gprs plans are quite confusing to novice users & they may finish up with losing lots of money as their customer support is also not that good. They themselves are not aware of their mobile gprs plans & offers. They don’t have good downloading speed. The maximum mobile gprs speed I could accomplish was around 6kB/s at morning time else it drops down to 1kB/s at day time. I will recommend Vodafone users to look around some Vodafone mobile gprs users before subscribing to them.
MTNL
When I used BSNL in Uttarakhand I was much enthusiastic to try Mtnl 3g service in Delhi, so I bought one MTNL Trump Sim & began browsing the 3g designs on their net site. Their mobile gprs plans are really expensive & are out of the reach of a standard student like me. Also i was unable to finding any hack for MTNL. But still i thought to give it a try. At first I attempted MTNL 3G TV services. I got one week free TV viewing on mtnl 3g TV. Although the TV is uninterrupted & smooth but the video quality is poor. The programs are not in real time basis & are recorded & repeated all over again. In short, I was very much disappointed after few minutes. Then I attempted browsing & downloading. Browsing with 3g is always smooth & rapid. But then i tested its downloading speed. I downloaded one small mp3 song & got a fluctuating speed of 0kB/s – 40kB/s. This is quite low speed as compared to Bsnl 3g. Then I tried Mtnl 3g at different places of Delhi, but still the same, the maximum speed i could accomplish was 62kB/s. I won’t recommend users to go for 3g at this stage, where the rates are high & mobile gprs service is poor.
Its all about my experience with different mobile operators and their mobile gprs services, might be they may vary for you. So lets share your experinces now…
Hope you like our article on “Mobile GPRS Speed Comparison”, if you do, then please make comments on “Mobile GPRS Speed Comparison”.

In the case of Maharashtra Aircel has worst service than any other operation. It doesn’t provide good range so leave about other things. Talking about Idea’s 2gb plan.
They have condition for that plan that you can’t use more than 70 mb in a day and for above 70 mb they charge 5 rs for 1mb.. 70 mb per day is nothing if you are using it on PC. and 5 mb for just 1 mb, what is worst than that.. ? BSNL provide best browsing and downloading speed but their plans are not so good. Doccomo gives good downloading speed of 15 to17 kbps. but there surfing speed is not so good. for dowloading doccomo gives us 4gb in 98 rs.. which is really good.

Different states have different mobile gprs plans and speed too. Right now i am in uttarakhand for holidays and using BSNL 3G. I am using the 270 unlimited gprs plan for one month. But this time the downloading speed has got limited to 15kB/s to 20kB/s. I think bsnl has discovered their 3G hack flaw.

Hi! i am also a idea gsm 2g user
idea gives me abut speed of 35-40kbps (day tym) at nyt it gives me 40-50kbps awesome speed IDEA RoCkZz this is in HYDERABAD

50kbps or 50KBPS; there is a lot difference man. 50kbps means 50/8 = 6.33KB/s.
If you are saying that you are getting 50 KBPS, it is impossible because in India, 2G network speed is limited to 384kbps i.e. 48KB/s maximum.
I don’t know how you guys speak about the difference in day & night time. Speed is constant with a little variation with load.
Idea is just a f*** thing. Try Tata Docomo, you will get speed upto 42KB/s with an average speed of 33KB/s. Again at 95, they provide 4GB & 150, 8GB.
Use Docomo, if you lives properly inside city else you will be f****.

i have used plenty of operators
in my state kerala ,Tata Docomo and Aircel had the fastest internet .
but in due time as customers increased Tata docomo droped its speed which earlier provided a speed upto 35kbps which is the peak spead 236 kbps 2g connection
now aircel rocks but with time it may also slow
!dea has a good speed but they have the limitation of 69 mb per day
when used on pc this limitation sucks
bsnl here is the worst service provider. with lowest internet speed and no offers
vodafone provides a average performance
airtel has one of the best service ,but due to high customers they they are not able to provide their complete service
they have low internet speed .but they have good offers. they also sometimes fails to give customer support
relaince ,virgin, uninor, videocon are some other service providers but they are not in race with other providers

When talking about GPRS in 2G network I would recommend all of you to go for AirTel, because of their browsing and downloading speeds. Right now am experiencing browsing speed about 30-35kbps (at day time) and 50-55kbps (at night) and downloading speed 20-25kbps (at day time) and 30-32kbps (at night). With the entry of 3G services there’s been an improvement in the speed of 2G network with affordable GPRS plans 1. Rs 98 (2GB usage in day time and 2GB usage in night) 2. Rs 60 (1GB usage in day time and 2GB in night) in both the plans you get the same speeds. Moreover I would like to add that am not using any 3G mobile phone rather I use Nokia 5200.
Everyone please try AirTel if you want to experience the best GPRS service in 2G network.

its really great that you are getting a speed of 50+ at your place in airtel, but truly telling you that the maximum i could get was around 10kBPS in places near daryaganj and around 4 or 5 at places near Saket. Also their calling plans are somewhat expensive than others.

I am a customer of IDEA for last 4 years in Pune. Their customer service or response is worst. They do not really care about the complaints that we made. We need to follow-up regularly for 10 days to resolve the issues. They frequently activate some stupid plans and even we do not informed about it. When we find our balance is duducting every day then we need to call them to know and stop those stupid packages. Sometimes even they do not know what is the purpose of their package.
Recently I have frequently facing recharge issues. After I recharge I get a confirmation saying my recharge was succuessful but the amount is not credited to main balance. We need to visit their office and follow-up regularly to get our recharge amount. This happend 7 times in last one year and everytime they are saying some technical problem and it will not repeat in the future. We can give rating one in worst service. My advice is please do not take idea. If you are already a idea customer keep regularly watch your balance.

Hey dude..thank you very much for this good advice. But I don’t understand why do you continue to use Idea…just throw it away man! Use MNP & dump it. Worst thing about Idea is they cost 50ps/3min for Customer Care calls. This is pathetic. More pathetic than this their Customer Care isn’t improved a bit after even after charging for it. I use TATA Docomo now, they have atleast good CC..At first I had network problems, but I banged their Nodal Officer ass so many times with mails & calls that within 1 month my network went from 2 bars to Full.

lol….Really funny
@ first in Gujarat Aircel was giving good Net speed, around constant 21kbps on my HTC P3400i ( Edge Supported )…. But now it has become awful for last 2 months….
I can’t even open my Facebook account….So forget about downloading….
I think Here in Gandhinagar…. My best Experience Has been with Vodafone….As they give 2 GB for 111 Rs. ( Aircel: 3 GB for 98 Rs.) & it is constant giving around 20-25 kbps speed on the same mobile….& they also gave free Trial of 3g for around 20 Days on the any of their Plans ( I used 2Gb Plan) … Speed was awsome…. around giving 200-250 kbps on Samsung Galaxy 5….

i am using aircel gprs but its speed is not comfortable for me but it is better than some others. few months ago i used reliance gprs but they are so stupid in activating some unknown stupid services every time i recharged in my main balance… after that when i asked customer cares about the deduction of my balance they used to say that i myself have activated those services and they are not guilty for that….. so stupid and i left reliance GPRS……

You should mention your state too, so that other people can know about which place you are talking about. This will really help others to choose the best option.
*Guys from Delhi can try for Idea GPRS too, recently I tried them and the downloading speed was around 19-32 kB/s near Daryaganj and Rajiv Chowck.

hi friends , i have hobby to always check gprs speed of all service providers. i used all of service like airtel, idea, vodaphon, aircel, reliance & tata docomo. but i found tata docomo, Aircel & idea speed is better than other. Aircel and tata speed is very much than idea. but some location tata have network problem. but its a very fast gprs speed. Guys if u want realy used gprs only take aircel, docomo, & idea. AND Plz Dont take Vodaphon & Uninor. If u want Reliance then it also best speed

I think u r right nikhil.
I m from westbengal. and I used reliance, airtel, aircel 3G gprs plan . but reliance is best here. bcoz reliance give me nearly 7Mbps surfing speed and in idm downloading speed is 200+. but when i download torrent in u-torrent i get 500-600 torrent downloading speed in reliance but others are worst

September 12, 2012
Yes. You are right. I bought reliance sim (Bangalore) . There is one “MASTER PLAN” here. 500MB/month free for 6 months.
But the speed……. huh….
It is worst worst worst….
After a day usage i thrown the sim….
Because you can’t even complete 1MB in a month…
Mobile Apps doesn’t recognize that there is a data connection!! Don’t go for reliance in Bangalore. Even their call quality is very low… RELIANCE GSM IS WORST NETWORK EVER….

thanks all for ur info. I didnt try many networks. But i strongly suggest u not to go for vodafone.. M living in delhi, dwarka area n previously vishavidyalay area. In both d places vodadone gprs speed s pathetic. Even if i uncheck my images n sounds option, i cannot even open google pages. Airtel gprs s pretty decent almost in every corner of delhi.. By d above suggestions i’ld lik to try aircel now.

Hey guys I am from Pune, Maharashtra.
Yeah I have tried alot of operators to check their GPRS service for speed and efficiency but I think that AIRTEL is definitely among the BEST of all just that its rates are bit higher as compared to UNINOR or AIRCEL. But DOCOMO gives allround performance for its speed as well as costing.

I had been using TATA DOCOMO 2G in remote areas of Kanpur, Lucknow, and other areas nearby in UPE circle. I have to say that DOCOMO(& Virgin GSM, as it shares the same network) has by far given me the best of 2G internet I have Experienced so far…. Ultimate performance in all aspects, let it be speed, or consistancy. Moreover, the speed doesnot fall in low coverage areas. In peak hours it gives average download speeds of 20Kbps which at off peak hours reaches upto 30-35 kbps, with a high degree of consistancy..
Handset i use for tethering is Samsung Shark 3G(S5350)(In 2G-EDGE mode). and Samsung Metro S3500i .
I also tried it on some Nokia’s like X3, X6, 6303i, performance was a bit low on the Nokia phones, with average speeds only upto 15kbps. However, USB modems of Huawei also gave excellent results, better than their competitors Micromax… So i would recommend using Samsung phones or Huawei Modems for wireless internet ……
I have tried with other providers too, with BSNL being the worst on 2G, and Airtel, Vodafone are average performers.
Aircel is a good 2g performer but not better than Docomo in the areas I used
Idea is good in terms of speed and consistancy but it sucks due to its daily limit of 84MB.
Reliance GSM and Uninor are still out of the race.

hey i use lg kp199, so now i think that my device is a bit too old now…
please give me some more info about the usb modem you talked about…in terms of the technical details i should look for and also the price.
Devashish Pandey
June 30, 2011
Yup! your device LG KP199 is really a slow device. You can get a Huawei 3.5G modem around Rs 2000/- anywhere @ Shri Ram Towers or Naka Hindola. There are many models available, majority of the 7.2 mbps models come with the facility of audio and video calling(if u hav a webcam). So go for any 7.2 mbps modem. Try ur best for getting Original Manufacturer version from Huawei. coz in the market majority of huawei models are those which come bundled with a service provider like 3Mobile, Optus, BSNL, Uninor/Telnor etc. These devices are same as per hardware as the Original manufacturer ones, but the the service provider tries to limit the services by providing there own software.. If you still dont manage to get an original manufacturer one, the there is an option too. Download the original “Mobile Partner” software from Huawei’s website… and uninstall the software u got in your provider bundled modem. make a fresh install of Mobile partner and then you can access all the facilities provided by the modem like Internet/SMS/MMS/ voice/videocall/USSD

June 28, 2011
here comes the best deal of all… if you are from an urban area of Uttar Pradesh East, and u r sure that u fall under coverage of BSNL 3G, then get an HSDPA enabled 3G phone or USB modem, and get going with thecheap and best plan available.
The trick is simple. U can access BSNL’s 3G network with a simple 2G sim, using 2G data packs(like 3GB @98 or 10GB @270 for 1 month), and get speeds that really rock. I have recorded Downloading speeds upto 300-330 kiloBytes per second(kBps) , and my net meter google gadget shows the incoming speed upto 3.4-3.5 mega bits per second. So actually u will b able to use 3G @ 2G rates. Again I used the Samsung Shark-3G(Now in 3G-UMTS mode), Although this high end speed is not very consistent in daytime, as it falls to 500 kbits per second/50kbytes/sec(dnld), but still this speed is also way above the regular 2G speeds by other providers in competition. So go ahead, try this and take its advantage before BSNL is able to fix this bug.

hello guys, i am from Chandipur (120 km from Kolkata). I have used Airtel, Aircel, Vodafone, Uninor so far.
Airtel : i hv used Airtel for about a year. It was my personal best bcz it has a very good network coverage and downloading is quite stable. It gave me around 10 KBps downloading speed most of the time and between 4 a.m.- 8a.m. , it was around 25 KBps. That was 3 months ago. I don’t use it now bcz it gives only 5KBps speed even in morning and sometimes it fails to cross 1KBps.
Aircel : I used it for some days and my experience is not very good. However, my fried told me that it is giving good speed now.
Uninor : I am using it for two months. 15 days ago it constantly give me downloading speed above 15KBps. And sometimes i recorded 30 KBps speed even at 8 p.m. But suddenly its speed has dropped down and it has now become similar to airtel.
Vodafone : I just used it today and i am quite happy with it. Youtube streamimg is very good. It’s speed is above 10 KBps right now i.e. at 4 p.m.
Bsnl : very bad service. None use it for GPRS.
These are the main providers here. My friend has used Docomo and he is not happy with it. My other friend uses Idea and he is quite happy with its speed.
***** i am going to kolkata after some days and planning to switch to 3G . As per i am concerned, only vodafone and bsnl has 3G coverage in kolkata. Plz anyone suggest which other providers offer 3G in kolkata and for which provider should i go for. thanks……..

IDM & DAP show false speed, you can check the same in Task Manager under Networking tab with Data recieved per interval option selected.
You can calculate it manually. If speed is 30KB/s, 1MB file will be downloaded in 34-35 seconds, if time taken is more than 35 seconds, it means speed is less than 30KB/s, you can check it.

As concern as gprs speed, it depends on where do u live. I’m from Allahabad and here Docomo, Aircel, Airtel, idea n BSNL’s speed r average but network wise Airtel is the best. Vodafone’s network is also good but gprs speed is worst as his customer care.

I feel that one day, guys like you will get a speed of 1024KB/s i.e. 1Mega-bytes per second by using 3G at 2G plans.
You must specify whether 300KB/s is obtained on PC or mobile. If mobile, it’s a case of false detection.
On PC, if such a speed is given while downloading using a proper browser like IE/Firefox/Chrome, then only believe the words. Commercial Download Managers like DAP gives a fake speed. You can check it yourself. If it says 300KB/s, check whether 30MB file is downloaded within 102 seconds or not, if it is 105 seconds, speed is not 300KB/s

i am using aircel internet via Bluetooth. i am getting around 23kbps at day time from 9.00 am to 11.00pm and after 12.30am i am getting around 35 kbps. aircel is the best internet for downloading but its browsing speed is very very slow at day time.browsing speed is fast at night time only but other mobile services provide good browsing speed than aircel. idea is getting 35 kbps at day time its browsing speed is very fast.but you can use 70mb per day which is very less if you want to download.i think they have to remove the scheme 70mb.vodafone is also fast for browsing.but they have kept a limit of 2gb.idea have to follow the same method as vodafone and other sevice provider.

hi guys,
I m from allahabad, UPE. That’s my hobby to compare telecom companies with themselves. Today the picture has been changed. 3G service has been launched here by almost every service provider except docomo. Since, i ve testest all, through 2G n 3G services. Airtel got worst in both services, even his STV triggers ve stop working properly. BSNL is as well as before, with an average GPRS and 3G speed but his customer care support and IVR menu are hopeless. Voda has change himself fantastically. His 3G speed is orsom and GPRS doing well 2 d comparison with other networks. Docomo GPRS is also good but network signals are keep playing their game constantly. Aircel 3G is good but GPRS doesn’t work. Beside that, at night, 3G connection is frequently disconnected. Idea image has been cheap and best network in all over country, but here, he’s playing game with middle class people. His 3G is ok but about GPRS speed, a 5mb song takes his time to download atleast 90mins at night. This thing is impossible in the day time.

Airtel gprs avrage speed in ludhiana is so slow . It is only 6kb/ on 2g network.but to calling their network covrage is best.
when i used videocon 3 months ago their 2g speed was good.the avrage speed was 15-18 kb in ludhiana.
their customer care’s behaviour is too good but their system is failor to remove some plans such as cricket alert service.thy can not remove plans so thy detect the cutomers balance and say we cannot remove this service because of system failour.

When you will call airtel cutomercare to complaint about any technical problem such as very low speed of gprs to your number they will chec that for sometime and will say we think here is no problem to your number to take more information dial this no. 12118 .airtel main call karne k lye thank you. They will barried your number for more than 1 month and you cannot call at any customercare no. Their computer will auto reject your call. They do like this because they have little knowlege abot solution of gprs problems.if you will call more than three times at airtel cutomer care they will barried your no. To all customer care numbers then you cannot call any coutmercare no. More then 1 month.its happened with my airtel nunber.

Hi Somiron, for your information, BSNL,Vodafone,Aircel and Reliance have 3g services in Kolkata. And believe me, BSNL service is not so bad in Kolkata circle as in Bengal circle. However,if u want to use 3g service in Kolkata,go for either Vodafone(100 mb at Rs 103 for 30 days) or Reliance(100 mb ,250 mb,500 mb packs etc).I personally got average 170-190 kbps download speed in Vodafone 3g.At present , in respect of coverage and speed,Vodafone 3g is the best followed by BSNL 3g.And Aircel, the worst in Kolkata.

Hi ashish..
I live in Bangalore. i regularly used airtel gprs connection of 98rs – 2gb package. suddenly when i recharged for gprs today, got only 1gb…! Later only when i checked this blog, i got to know that airtel has changed its plans.
I’m not satisfied with airtel gprs connection now, because 98 too expensive for just 1gb, while other providers give more amount of usage. Also download speed of airtel is not good as it used to be few months ago.
so i request u to suggest good gprs plan for me.. cost may vary around 90 to 200 rs. i need better speed (around 20kbps download speed).
so what do u suggest me…?

I’ve used airtel, idea, bsnl, vodafone, aircel. And according to me airtel is the best as it has a good coverage and good speed too. After that i would like to use vodafone cause no doubt it has a great speed but it gives it’s best service while it get full coverage. And idea is the best one if it has full coverage. Aircel gives good speed but it’s coverage is too poor. And the worst one is bsnl. I’m requesting to everyone TO NOT TO USE BSNL AS IT’S THE WORST SERVICE PROVIDER IN INDIA according to me.

I am using airtel service for last three years in Shimla. I started with Rs. 398 unlimited plan, believe me or not they gave wonderful speed around 10 to 35 kbs. Then I changed it to Rs. 98 because good data limit, 2 gb day and 2 gb night. Speed and data plan were the reasons for not thinking for other services, but Airtel had reduced their data limit to 1 gb only with no night pack. also they have increased call rates as well as they already got a status of being expensive service provider then others. Time for a change now, So all these reasons are making me to think about others. Thanks lot for valuable comments guys, it really gonna help me.
Bye take care.

Hi guys I’m from Kerala, here Tata docomo and Aircel gives fair speed in GPRS. Dont go for Airtel, which really f***ed. Other companies i didnt use,but Idea nover care their customers, they just wanna make money.
ALSO HERE I’M SUGGESTING YOU TO USE UNLOCKED USB MODEMS (DATA CARDS) TO MAKE YOUR INTERNET FASTER. BECAUSE I REALLY EXPERIENCED THAT THE SAME SIM WHICH WAS TOO SLOW IN MOBILE WAS ABLE TO GIVE FAIR SPEED WITH DATA CARD. PLZ NEVER GO FOR LOCKED DATA CARDS,WHCH WILL MAKE YOU DEPENDENT ON PARTICULAR SERVICE PROVIDER.

its true no cheap , Gprs is faster than BSNL, in chennai BSNL ROCKS, even in 2g we are allowed to use limited 3g signal speed up up to 256 kps max , and the general 3g speed is up to 3.7 mps its too good , earlier it was also allowed to use gprs 89 in 3g sim, the entire 2 GP in 3g speed was permitted provided with 103 data recharge,,at rs 98 only( rs 98+103 data recharge ), but now its stopped due to changes in plans ,but yet one can activate gprs 98 in 2g sim and receive 3g limited signal for fast gprs ,

Hey Ashish I am from the city of Kharagpur, west bengal.
I currently use Aircel 2G for gprs. It was giving good browsing n downloading speed till this month. Now its working bit slow.
But when i use it in my college the downloading speed dramatically increase to 25-39kbps. But when i back home it gets reduced to 2-9kbps at evening and 8-19kbps early morning. Although streaming is possible all day, but with flactuation in quality.
I previously used Airtel, Vodafone, Docomo, uninor, Bsnl, reliance for net.
I found Airtel just around ok, but the plans r very costly, i left it.
I found Vodafone pretty slow, and with plans which i was unable to understand. I left it.
I found Bsnl is very good and reliable but again it offers only 2gb at 98. I left it.
I found docomo interesting especially with it streaming quality. Youtube is crystal clear with awesome sound. But its browsing speed is dangerously slow. Some times it takes 10minutes to open a page. Can u belive it. I left it, instead of having good plans.
I found reliance the worst ever. I threw the sim away after using it for just one day. DO NOT GO FOR IT WEST BENGAL. :@
I found uninor decent. Although it used to irritate me every day between 8pm to 11pm. It streaming quality is not that good. I miss the days when it offers 6gb unlimited internet at rs 90. But now it caps it data plan to 200mb maximum usage per day. Which is not enough for me as a heavy YouTube user. I left it.
I’m sticking to aircel because of its cc service and reliable network. Plus as a surprise i don’t why they r giving me a 7days extra on recharging with a 30day pack every month. Its very awesome!!!
But next i wanna give a chance to virgin mobile. I expect it to be a dark horse. Finger crossed.
I also heard that ¡dea service is not ok here. So i will not think about it right now.
I wanna buy a 3g handset and try recently launched bsnl, reliance and Vodafone 3g in my city. I will definitely write here again with my experiences then…
Best regards….

Hi Guys,
I’m from Jabalpur, Madhyapradesh.
Recently I’ve purchased a Samsung Smart phone (Galaxy Ace) with 3G & HSPDA support. I’ve recharged my BSNL prepaid sim (2G) with Rs.98 data pack and using from last 1 month. Surprisingly, i got 150 KBps – 200 KBps speed constantantly throughout on the very first day. I’ve downloaded a streaming movie of approx. 350 MB in in 20-25 mins. But . . .
from the next day it drops to normal gprs speed i.e. 10 KBps – 20 KBps.
Right now I’m getting average speed of 14-15 KBps. Sometimes, it touches to 20 KBps.
@Dear Ashish : Can you send the trick to increase the 2G speed (in a BSNL 2G enabled sim) in a 3G supported mobile ?
Before sending me that trick, pls clear my one confusion, that is , you and many ppl said in their posts, that to use that hack you’ve converted your bsnl sim to 3G and then recharged with 2G data plan (for ex. Rs 98 or 270). After doing that you guys used to receive comparatively much higher speeds. Correct me if I’m wrong?
@GUYS : Can you share you u’r experience about various service providers in Madhyapradesh & Chattisgarh.
Thanks
Ashish Soutiyal

hey friends this is Pritam, m from Assam, i mostly use my Nokia 5233 to access internet…. in fact m a internet junkie…. my fav operators are vodafone and aircel…. let me tell you about Aircel first, its offers attract me… i mean Unlimited usage for one whole month at just Rs 98 and unlimited usage for 3 days at just Rs 14; these are simply awesome offers, and its speed is 150kbps (18.75KB/s) which is also above average.
and vodafone, its speeds are simply superb… lil faster than aircel, gives 160 to 200 kbps (20 to 25KB/s) speed…. but vodafone doesnt offer unlimited usage on Rs 98, it only gives 2GB and only 200MB at Rs 13 for 3 days….
i actually use Vodafone, happy with limited usage cause Vodafone services are good than Aircel…
i often have to suffer from bad network with Aircel

Never ever go for Airtel and Reliance, gosh…!! they give 2/3KB/s speed which is 16/24 kbps…. totally fucking speed….
as i have said… vodafone and aircel are awesome…
the highest speed i noticed on Vodafone is 55KB/s (440kbps), which was outstanding…

i have been used idea, airtel, docomo, reliance 2G plans. worst speed i got in airtel
although airtel (4 kbps-10kbps) has best coverage and services they lack in net speed . its the main reason they are loosing thier customers.
mobile no. portability has affected reliance the most so they are providing good speed (30-35kbps downloading on 2g).
plz tell me is that trick to use bsnl 2g plans in 3g speed are working or not.

Hi all,
I have used AirTel, Vodafone and leave them. Vodafone really sucks @6Kbps and AirTel gives @20Kbps.
Now I am happy with Aircel which gives me decent 51Kbps and they have the best network coverage, customer care and Rate Cutters.
I have ported my AirTel number to AIRCEL and I am happy.
I am from Kamalpur, Tripura where Idea is not launched yet and I have not used BSNL since they provide only WAP that means you cant use Opera Mini or BOLT Browser or UC Browser and other Apps which is really ridiculous.

speeds are different in every region
it depends on the network and the main thing is the mobile
previously i was using sony ericsson k320i and was getting speeds upto maximum 10KBPS
but mow i use karbonn k1000 and i’m getting speeds upto 30 KBPS
but as far as my concern i think that vodafone is the best………
but i would say that u check which provider provides better network coverage at ur area

i dont know you guys are talking about delhi area or planet pluto…..lolzz
AIRTEL is most reliable gprs(all services) operator among all other operators as of now …me too from delhi and used and even using almost all operator’s gprs and 3g connections….AIRCEL will make u feel like inferior lolz….its has some blocked websites from its gateway(e.g http://www.onlinesbi.com and http://www.blogger.com) and u cant open this 2 sites using ur aircel connection…….
IDEA AND VODAFONE IS BETTER THEN AIRCEL. THESE ARE NOT RELIABLE OPERATORS AND SERVICES SUCKS IN SPECIFIC AREAS…..
