As per TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India), now mobile users of any operator will only be able to send 100 sms per day w.e.f. 27th September 2011. This is only a measure to reduce spam messages by various product marketers. This step from TRAI has some advantages and some disadvantages too.

- Now you won’t receive annoying marketing sms’s like “Buy SONA SLIM BELT” or “Buy CHEAP luxury FLATS in Noida”.
- You wont receive SMS’s from unknown numbers as the SMS plans may go expensive now.
- You can still send more than 100 Sms per day on Blackout days or in the days notified by TRAI.

- This will definitely hurt the students who generally depends on SMS chatting for communication with their friends.
- This may also be worse when we need an urgent SOS message to be sent and our limit has exhausted.

Although personally, I have not been affected with this cap placed on SMS, but many of you may get effected. Please do comment whether the TRAI has taken a good step by limiting per day SMS, or they have to think somewhat else to stop the SMS spams by the product marketers and should have removed this limitation.

Definitely a wrong step. Improving the comfort of people is not by taking away the comfort they have and giving them shit instead. This step will definitely hurt the mobile users. I mean in this 3g generation , everything runs on communication you limit it. Do we have to suffer all this crap just because we born in india?

This is not a fair step adopted by TRAI. They have’nt considered the case of many people mostly students who depends mostly on SMS. They may avoid the tele marketing but we the young generation will be affected badly

Its a total bullshit step taken up by TRAI. In todays hectic day-to-day life who has got tym to talk to each and every friend and relative on a daily basis. Its the SMSes which keeps us in touch with eachother. Moreover its the customer who are paying for the what facility they are availing. If at all TRAI wants to curb mobile spams, it should concentrate on them, those companies who are used to sending spam SMSes. Why is it bothering the customers who are already burdened wid so many problems from govt ?

If u want to stop tele marketing why common people pay… If telemarketing sms is recieved this is common man mobile.. If trai activate then again 90% affected common man why from both side common man survies. Trai has to improve new ways to stop telemarketing sms.. Not to make people effect by using technology..

Out of all who have given their comments, none of them have supported the cause and neither do I.
But, I want to request T.R.A.I. that please don’t take such a decision which will send sadness in some, anger in many and revolt in PLENTY of people throughout the country.
Student’s communication will be affected largely apart from that, few spam SMSes are better than someone losing his/her job, love, money, friend or most importantly someone’s LIFE who is in real danger, by not being able to send a SOS SMSes because of insufficient balance.
Now T.R.A.I. might give an answer to this that the emergency no. are always on. For this I have an answer that its better to call someone whom you know than whom you don’t at the time of emergency.
This decision is really getting on my nerves, and didn’t expect T.R.A.I. to come up with such a solution for spam SMSes.
I think T.R.A.I. has a huge communication gap themselves with the public. A small appeal to the public for an idea of how to solve this problem would have resulted in huge number of suggestions. After all there are many geniuses there amongst the public.
And I also sadly have to admit b’coz my mind says that please save your real meaning of the abbreviation T.R.A.I. i.e. (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) and let it not be turned into:

The main mistake is tele marketing agents, but TRAI can’t take action on them. But TRAI gives the punishment to the students and middel class and poor persons. They all are depends only on msgs to communicate with their frnds and releatives and family mems. We can also communicate with our frnds,releatives,family mems by vioce calls, but the call costs makes so high. The students and middle class and poor people cant have much money to use voice calls throghout country. The only way to communicate with our frnds,releatives,family mems is only msgs. So TRAI plz try to understand remainin peoples problems and plz change this. punish the Mistakers if u can, not remaining.

Today at 6 pm i completed 100 sms per day.. now it will be reset on 12 am or after 24 hours?
