Here I am providing you the list of all the WordPress Plugins that I personally use (free and paid), these plugins are best for SEO and Design and are MUST HAVE plugins.

  1. Akismet : Akismet checks your comments against the Akismet web service to see if they look like spam or not and lets you review the spam it catches under your blog’s “Comments” admin screen.
  2. Broken Link Checker : Checks your blog for broken links and missing images and notifies you on the dashboard if any are found.
  3. Facebook Like Box : Facebook Like Box Widget is a social plugin that enables Facebook Page owners to attract and gain Likes from their own website. The Like Box enables users to: see how many users already like this page, and which of their friends like it too, read recent posts from the page and Like the page with one click, without needing to visit the page.
  4. FeedBurner FeedSmith : Originally authored by Steve Smith, this plugin detects all ways to access your original WordPress feeds and redirects them to your FeedBurner feed so you can track every possible subscriber.
  5. GoCodes : Create shortcut URLs to anywhere on the internet, right from your WordPress Admin.
  6. Google XML Sitemap for Images : This plugin will generate a XML Image Sitemap for your WordPress blog.

  14. Redirection : Manage all your 301 redirects and monitor 404 errors.
  15. SEO SearchTerms Tagging 2 : This is my personal best free plugin for wordpress SEO. I can easily see a mass traffic drop when I disable this plugin. It Multiply blog traffic by strengthening on page SEO, increasing the number of indexed pages, auto convert search terms into post tags, and more.
  16. SEO Smart Links Business : SEO Smart Links Business provides automatic SEO benefits for your site in addition to custom keyword lists, nofollow and much more.
  17. Subscribe to Comments Reloaded : Subscribe to Comments Reloaded is a robust plugin that enables commenters to sign up for e-mail notifications. It includes a full-featured subscription manager that your commenters can use to unsubscribe to certain posts or suspend all notifications.

  24. WP125 : Easily manage 125×125 ads within your WordPress Dashboard.
  25. WP Hide Dashboard : A simple plugin that removes the Dashboard menu, the Personal Options section and the Help link on the Profile page, hides the Dashboard links in the admin bar menu (if activated), and prevents Dashboard access to users assigned to the Subscriber role. Useful if you allow your subscribers to edit their own profiles, but don’t want them wandering around your WordPress admin section. Note: This version requires a minimum of WordPress 3.1.
  26. WP Super Cache : Very fast caching plugin for WordPress.
  27. WP Syndicator : Automatically syndicate your content, dominate the SERPs and explode your traffic.

Along with these plugins you will need to have Thesis Premium Theme, the combination of both these plugins and theme will drive a load of traffic from Google. As you can see, the time I posted this article, it comes to the first page of Google for the keyword “wordpress plugins 2011” and “best wordpress plugins“.

The Facebook Like Box has one huge problem: it doesn’t appear properly/completely for users not simultaneously signed in with Facebook. Instead it leaves a big empty box with just something on the top and the bottom.

If I can change the settings, please let me know here:

you can contact the plugin developer, I think the problem is related to the theme.

I actually found the problem is when I am signed in as admin of a page. It is a plugin issue, not a theme issue. When I read on this issue it says that there is also a limitation on people’s ability to see the feed if you have created geo-limitations on who can “like” the page. Interesting to know these limitations. Anyway, I like this plugin.

This is a fantastic list. I just updated my own 40+ Best WordPress Plugins article with current WordPress plugins we use in a host of WordPress sites we manage as blogs and as CMS platforms. I have also neatly categorized into different sections so it is easy to find the ones you are looking for.

Google XML sitemaps does not work anymore, don’t know if anyone is updating the plugin but it does not work on my blog. It works but does not list the posts in chronological order – some one know if it is updated to 3.4 Wpress?

Hi, the plugin is working flawlessly for me. I am using wp 3.2. I think there is some plugin conflict in your blog, thats why it is not working correctly. Although you can contact the developer of the plugin in wordpress forum.

The problem with plugins is that a lot of them are only compatible with older versions of WordPress.

I’m using WP version 3.2 and none of the three plugins I’ve just read about here which I would like to download – SEO Smart Links, SEO Friendly Images, and Redirection – are guaranteed to work with the latest 3.2 version. The plugin designers are always playing catch-up I’m afraid. And some are way behind.

So you took the chance and downloaded them even though none of those three I want are listed as tested up to 3.2? Maybe I’m a bit of a coward when it comes to doing that, I’d just hate to hit any issues and cause something to crash on me.

I believe WpTimeMachine is better than wp database backup.

in WpTimeMachine, you not only able to backup the posts. but also include all images within the website.
